sisters :-)

A pic from our first little outing :: a coffee-homemade-pie-girlie-get-together with a bunch of friends and babies and toddlers :-)

~Back in January/February things started out a little shaky in the "sister" world. Maria didn't want to be a big sister... She wanted to stay little. :-) (I do love her way of thinking!)

However, by the time October came, she was more than ready for her sister to arrive. At Mass the weekend before Camille's debut, Maria noticed lots of wee ones. "Mom, why does everyone else have their baby? When do we get our baby?" :-)

There were a few nerves when we dropped her off at a friend's house at 3a.m. en route to the hospital. Yet all we had to say was that we were headed to the hospital to get her baby sister. "Oh ok." Smiles. As long as it meant she could have 'her baby', then she was good to go!

Needless to say she was ecstatic to finally meet Camille Clare when Quita and Dada brought her up to the hospital. And she was even more excited for us to bring her home. Maria immediately read Camille 2 entire library books, showed her all the 'baby' toys, and was full of head rubs and kisses for Camille. About an hour in to this new baby world, Maria looks at Camille, looks at me and says, "She's going to be a regular baby, right Mom?" :-D lol It took 2 or 3 days before she was interested in holding our little flopsy mopsy newborn. She was expecting a baby more along the lines of my niece, baby Brett... who's, um, a year old now but still a baby to Ree! And nearly everyday, she announces that Camille has grown (much to her Mommy's dismay!).

Is she big enough to sleep with me? Can she try out her new green chair yet? Can I hold her hand and help her up the hill? Will she eat baby food? Is she big enough for a bottle? I love this myriad of questions/interest in the new wee one in our world. :-)
Ria's first time to hold Camille :-)

Can she sleep with me? Please, please?!?

story time :: If Camille's around, Maria always pats the bean bag and insists that Camille sit next to her.

Taking care of the swing :: possibly Maria's favorite thing to do. possibly my least favorite thing that Maria helps with. :-) (but it's still so darn cute!)

more bedtime froggie-sister snuggles :-)

picnic in the park :-) One sweet 'puppy dog' and one sweet 'little pea' in her pod. (That sling is yet again, my favorite 'baby item' to have. Thanks Mom for figuring out the pattern -or lack thereof!- and making in back when Maria was born!)
