So we're officially groupies! On Father's Day we went to a local "cafe" called the Blue Dog, made famous by the paintings of George Rodrigue. Our main purpose (if not great food, company, and the legal opportunity to color on the table) was to hear a band named L'Angelus, who's cd I've been listening to for a year.
Well, if we didn't love them before...we're absolutely crazy about them now! Not just b/c they play great music, or b/c they're an amazing family oriented band... but b/c they dedicated a song to Maria!!!! It was such a fun moment! My cousin (who knows them well) told them Maria's favorite song was "Marianne." (There's no way to know this for certain. But it's basically her name and fun to dance around the house to...so why not, eh? I claim mother's privilege.) Anyway, they asked her name and age and dedicated their song "Marianne" to the "tee bebe!" I think I could've cried...it was too sweet and fun all at once! If only Dada had been there -especially to dance the "Waltz of St. Cecilia" with M- it would've been perfect.
The spirit surrounding L'Angelus is perhaps an even greater draw than their music...or the fact that they dedicate songs to our tee bebe! ;) The band is made from a mother's love for music which she instilled and taught to her children. They're all brothers and sisters (and their mom sings with them as well). So there's all sorts of kids running about and everyone is included, young and old. The clip below doesn't even remotely begin to do them justice, but I share it anyway! Check out their website: angelusband.com You can even hear a bit of "Marianne."

I love them, too!! I have even dropped hints to Melanie to get them to play for their wedding and reception. We'll see. Are you in LA right now? I have friends in BR whom I know you'd enjoy meeting.
