The field doesn't actually belong to Dada... he was just in it. ;-)
In Army land, going to the field is practice time for deployments... which also means no Dada at home for 2 or 3 weeks. :-( However, we were quite excited when the Battalion decided to have "Family Day"! So on Echo Company's day, we piled into buses (or a van in our case) and headed out to the field. The idea was to see where your Soldier was 'living'/what they were doing 'in the field'. Fun!
Hanging out on Dada's knee as the rain pours in... and I mean that literally...
It's hard to tell when the picture is small, but there was literally a waterfall inside the tent. And by tent, I mean a whole connected maze of ginormous tents containing computers, big screen tv's, etc. And by waterfall, I mean gallons upon gallons of water coming through the ceiling seams and flooding the dirt/mud floor (where the wires and surge protectors were).
We spent most of our time trying to stay out of the rain... and the indoor flooding. Then when we ventured out to see the other Army-like stuff, I forgot the camera!
Note :: because Dada got a spider bite when he went to the field a month or so ago, Maria now thinks that's what happens in the field. Therefore she told anyone who asked about her experience in the field with Dada... that she got a spider bite too!
