lions, tigers... and kittens! oh my!

After 8 years, we sadly had to say goodbye to our well loved, overly large, and wonderfully laid back cat, Mr. Jesse. Apparently he decided he'd had enough of moving and has retired to lead a Cajun- country-cat life. (How's that for alliteration!?)

But yay for our newest addition! Here's our new kitty named Ziggy (after Ziggy Marley, Fr. Mike's favorite musician). He's survived week one so I assume he'll be around a while. He's absolutely the cutest (aren't all kittens?), and I love the little white tip on his tail. :D It took all I had not to take all 9 kittens that Aunt Monie had for us to choose from... So a special thank you shout out to Aunt Monie for providing us with yet another wonderful "menew." (And for not letting me take 9 cats home!)

I lol everytime I see this pic! This was Ziggy's first full day with us...meaning he still thought it was fun to follow Maria. He's now learned to run in the opposite direction of Maria rather than chasing after her. M's favorite way to "play" with the kitty is to grab a fistful of fur/skin, swing him from side to side, then pound him into the ground! I do my best to referee... but often times I'm laughing too hard to be of much use.

(Btw, that's mud... not poop as wee Charlee thought! :D M was splashing around in the mud puddles in the drive.)

Oh geez, I love our little "animal" house. :D
