Potty training 102, I dub thee a SUCCESS!!! Wahoo! Whoop! We've been at it since early January, and it's high time we let the world know of our little "ruler of the potty". :D We can run errands, make it through Mass (or at least to the nearest potty), and even awake at 0530 to announce that she desperately needs the potty.
And btw, I mean that "ruler of the potty" phrase literally. We have a one bathroom home, and if anyone (me included) ventures near the potty, all waterworks and wailing break forth... "Paaa-EEee!!!," is wailed from my wee one's mouth. Did I mention that this includes when we go other places? Try being at a Superbowl party and everyone (including the owner of the house) having to use the upstairs "potty" b/c my wee one wails traumatically every time someone enters "her potty". Oh the joys of toddlerhood! :D (We're working on cheering instead of crying. It's a slow process.)
Once she showed interest in the "big" potty, I gratefully introduced her to a special potty seat for the big potty. Oh maker of this potty seat, I do love you! Pee, poop...all gets flushed away instead of washing and disinfecting a plastic pot by hand! And it was a great turning point b/c Ria just loved climbing up to pee. However, she graciously let Elmo use her old little potty!
The child is smitten by her new Sesame Street "paaan-ees". (See the video for correct pronunciation.) She can't seem to get enough of them on at once, nor does she tire of the fun of putting them on herself!
