So I'm totally completely wholesomely sucked into this whole crafty world of existence. I find myself eagerly awaiting nap time/bed time so that I can delve into whatever project on my never-ending-always-lengthening-list I feel in the mood for. (Although I, of course, relish every moment with my ever growing wee one! It's a good life! ;D ) Here's a bit of what I've been up to lately:
Oh beautiful fabrics! :D...all nice and neatly folded....not cut, not sewn together. I'm currently enjoying staring at them. But I have every intention of cutting them up into little 5 inch squares and making a quilt for Maria's big girl room! (I'm giving myself a lengthy headstart!)
Here's my favorite project thus far, a pillow I put together for a friend who's expecting their second wee one yet first sweet girl! (I love little girls :D no partiality here!) I love her choice of reds/creams/mauves...and am contemplating stealing her idea. Anyway, this was my first attempt at "doodle" embroidery, and I learned how to make fun yo-yos. Good project.
Obviously, I've become stuck on doing birds and flowers. Perhaps I just like thinking of spring in the midst of yucky winter.
Here are some owls Mrs. Simone and I crocheted a while back for Maria's room. (Mine's the one that looks more like a chicken!) Although crocheting takes quite a bit of time, it was fun creating these as we went along. Thanks to everyone who's given us little owl decorations and/or ideas/templates for creating owl stuff for M's room. I love seeing it all start to come together. :) Now just to get to that quilt...
