new friends, new activities, new maneuvers

I'm trying to take advantage of being in Texas again by visiting with college friends and seeing their wee ones! It's crazy to think that so many of us are now moms! Ria and I recently visited my true crafting buddy, Mary and her 2 wee ones. It was great fun - our girls hit it off right away (Maria even succumbed to true little girl hand-holding...something she is not usually fond of)... and I picked up a fabulous new project! :) (And we're definitely going back soon b/c I still don't have a pic of her giant great dane! ;) )

Muddy little girl fun... I'm quite certain this was by far their favorite activity!

Pouring dirt into Maria's pockets and pant cuffs... she's just such a good sport. (insert sarcastic font ;) )
sweet hugs. Please note that Kaylie is still clean :)

And my fabulous new hobby... tatting!!! (Meaning making lace by hand, not giving tattoos... for any of you who, like my hubby were a bit confused. :) )

And all the glorious rain has called on my mommy-creativity... other than jumping in water puddles and getting sopping wet! We've received some great art supplies over the last couple of Christmases and birthdays, so we're putting the to use. :)

Fun scissors for cutting up play dough! (Thanks Jeanne, for being our good-idea-fairy on that one!)

Shredding construction paper and then glueing it onto cards for Dada! :) (During this activity I was informed that "gwue" is "ticky" (sticky), just for in case you weren't aware. )

A random pic of our favorite new purchase... "mon-ter peet!" The perfect little rugs for keeping the stool from sliding out from under her in the bathroom.

And our beloved Dada :) I'm really not sure I should attempt to explain, but it's really simple. Maria crawled through and then said, "Come on Dada!" And as a true Dada wrapped around his little girl's pinkie, he quickly figured out how to shimmy his way under her high chair! :)

How ironic that you've learned tatting! I JUST saw this being done last weekend and am SO interested in learning...do share your creations!! Thinking of you, friend!

I love that he is in his army garb, looks like he is doing the army crawl through the high chair!! Show that to his unit!
