I know Spring isn't quite yet here, but it is March. A girl can dream.
However, as I learned last year, Spring is a bit slow to arrive around these parts. I can long for the warm sunshine of March in South Louisiana, but that doesn't seem to work in ushering it this way!
Instead, we're attempting (well, mostly me as the wee people just go with the flow) to embrace these last days of winter, to know that there is, perhaps, still more snow to come, and we're going to be cooped up, climbing the walls for a bit longer.
We're a bit tired of being cold. And that only makes the cold seem colder. We just had 2 school snow days in a row. I don't think we ventured out for more than 10 minutes! Crazy, I tell you.
Therefore I'm doing my best to liven up our indoor time, to make the most of it before we spend every day soaking up sunshine and salt water and city parks and treks through the woods. (Dreams!) I recently discovered this blog (The Artful Parent), and it's a total gem for us.
So while the birds chirped and enjoyed our birdseed despite the snow, we enjoyed a morning filled with 'scratch paper' (or you can find it on Amazon), and painting with water …and getting into mischief. (Those chairs below remain over turned with good reason these days!)
We found our set at Michael's the night before. I was happy to find that it included stencils, as Maria is always coming home excited about the stencils she uses at school. It was ever so sweet how she would pause from her work to help punch out stencils for Camilly. Their kindness toward each other always leaves me feeling encouraged and sappy.

Although Lila wasn't exactly invited up to the art table, she still managed to sneak herself a moment to test the scratch paper. She doesn't miss out on a thing, I tell ya.
Happy 'almost Spring'! And happy 2 blog posts in March so far! Hopefully I can do a bit of catching up and keeping up.
