life around here

One thing I've always GREATLY cherished about Maria - she's always easily entertained herself, even as an itty bitty. Lately she's spent many a morning drawing smiley faces and balloons w/ bears (to hold them down) on her chalkboard. It's just so sweet to watch a little one so involved in their own little world. :)

Her favorite new 'chore' is feeding the animals... she's a bit obsessive about it! She takes it quite personally if she catches one of us feeding them! lol

This was Ria's great idea. And it was a great one. For a little while. lol

She did this while helping me 'put away' the groceries one day. I thought, hey! great idea! Thus we traded some items that I didn't think were very 'Maria proof' with ones that were more suited for her toddler world. She pushed that buggy around very proudly for about a week. Putting items into her kitchen and back into the buggy, etc. Then last Saturday she snuck the buggy and Audrey into her room and closed the door. No big deal, they do this all the time - play together in her room (we had missed the buggy's entrance). Of course you know what's coming...! Dada went in to get them only to find an open box of orzo. That being unsatisfactory, they moved on to opening/shredding the bag of goldfish and sharing the rewards! Why oh why do I ever believe things to be Maria-proof?! funny girl! :D
