nap time

We've been through an assortment of nap time 'phases' around here. There was the super great 3 hour phase, the movie watching phase, the time out rather than nap phase... you get the idea. Recently I took up a dear friend's suggestion to try a sticker chart; Maria picked a bucket of dinosaurs; I made patient (well, mostly patient!) verbal reminders... And at last there is peace and quiet in our afternoons again! Hallelujah! She doesn't always sleep, but when she does it's usually worth a photo opp...

"What Do People Do All Day?"... Apparently if you're 3 and Maria, you fall asleep (after pulling all your bedding to the floor) exhausted, behind the pages of these busy little Richard Scarry characters.

Yes, she is in the pillow case (of her own accord) and fast asleep!

When she doesn't sleep, her little imagination goes to work (quietly, thank goodness)! And what a great imagination she has! Here she is with her dinosaur. :-) (She's quite the dinosaur and monster fan lately.)

Her 'pretend' nap time tent. :-)

And sometimes her night time 'sleep-activities' are just as funny and precious.
Don't miss the little book-house-tents behind her.

Jena, it is so wonderful that you a capturing all of these moments! You, yourself are so creative as an adult and you can see the creativity beginnings in childhood with Maria! We just eat up these darling, precious posted photos.

Still chuckling over the dinosaur prayer group! So pious! So fresh and innocent!

Napping in the pillow case was a wonderful photo catch! Love you guys!

Mike's comment for the nap pictures...."see what happens when you share your whiskey with your child?!" :)
