We're obviously animal people. So when a friend recommended this safari place that's just right up the road... we had to check it out! SOOO much fun!! And way better than a zoo. But really, you should listen when they warn you about the camel...
our greeter - a really really REALLY large ostrich... who ate at our truck!!! I did not realize how HUGE these birds are!!! We all put our windows up! lol
Ree - taking her new driving responsibilities very seriously. ;-)
zebras - probably my favorite... So bizarre looking yet gentle and very horse like but extra bristly feeling.
llama llama - um, perhaps not Maria's favorite! For some reason these nice but nosey little fellows were amusing but somewhat frightening for the wee one!
mr. camel :: (he gets his own section)
we were warned.... that the camels were very 'friendly'.
that they would stick their heads into your vehicles.
i forgot the warning.
none of us considered that following a head being stuck into your vehicle is a really long neck.
the small handful Dada offered didn't really suit this camel. he stuck his right on in and helped himself to the entire bag of food! (I'm all the way pushed up against the other door to get this shot.) as in really, he ate the ENTIRE bag - food, bag, everything!
the hubby - very amused by this GIANT camel who just made himself at home in our truck... and is now finishing his snack on top of our truck. no rush, no big deal, he's just hanging out. (love this face :-) )
Ria - thought it was all REALLY funny and hasn't stopped talking about 'that camel'! Or how that other camel (there were two) was 'really mad b/c that first camel ate all the food'! However, besides being pretty stinky, they're actually quite soft.
mr alligator - receiving a final tour and explanation of the safari :-)

What a cool place! I bet Maria will always remember that!
What a fun find in your new home! Love the alligator giving the tour of the exotic animal farm!
too funny! I actually remember a similar place we went to when I was a kid located in Oklahoma...it seems we had a similar camel incident which resulted in my grandfather attempting to roll up the window to prevent your type of incident...in the process the camel's tongue got caught- their tongues by the way are as long as their necks! It was quite an experience!
