of the sewing kind. :-)
I've decided that if the hubby can have a 'man crush', I can have a 'woman crush'. Mine would have to be Amanda Blake Soule - whose blog I stalk and whose books I flip through with religious wonder. (Ok, that's a bit of exaggeration... but not much!)
Anyway, following her creative life, I have this notion in my head of sitting down with sweet little wild Maria and working on hand projects together... however brief those projects may be. The other day I, uh, found out just how brief those projects are in the world of a 3 year old! I stole the idea (from my woman crush) of finding blunt needles and a loosely woven fabric for little hands to practice their first stitches. Ria was quite truly excited picking out fabric from my scraps, thread color, her own needle case, etc. Then came the sewing part. :-) After about 3 1/2 stitches, I heard, "Here, you do it. It's a little too tricky." Done. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted!!!

But we are all aware of how stubborn I can be, right? lol And so, I press forward, determined to instill a love of the art/usefulness of sewing to my wee one. :-) (Actually this was a sewing project she asked to pick back up again... no pressure from Mommy. She does enjoy saying that she has a 'project' to work on... really, it's quite funny.)
