these boots are made for... splashing!

What began as a quasi joke/birthday present has turned into a very useful article of clothing - rubber cow boots! These cows have definitely stomped through their fair share of water puddles. Rain or shine, cold or warm, if Maria sees 'dripping' (rain), then she won't quit asking to splash in the puddles until, well, you let her!
Two slight hills meet along our back yard, creating the perfect little run off of water for ENDLESS splashing! (literally endless, b/c it never quite dries up!)

Check out how deep that water is!

Her new favorite thing is to send little twigs and pokey gum balls (from the trees, what are they called?) floating 'down river' and through the grate.

Or she enjoys kicking/pushing her balls through the 'creek'. :)

A couple of pics from our trip to Pocahontas State Park which is right up the road from us. Lot of REALLY tall trees, leaves, and pine cones (which are new for us)! Audrey even came along and rolled in goose poop just to give us memories! :)

pokey gum balls???? Love that she has gotten so much use of the boots. Looks like she is earning her baths :>
