happy easter tuesday

Our first daffodil to bloom... And on Easter Sunday! Hooray!

I had every intention of promptly posting these pictures on Sunday night.  Obviously that didn't occur.  One of the great things about being Catholic?  We have 50 days of celebrating Easter!  Alleluia!  So I have exactly 47 more days before this post might be considered 'late'.  My kind of procrastination.

Next year I'm going to take our Easter pics ahead of time.  And who knows, I might dress everyone for some post-Easter pics this year...

because these little girls and their dresses and bows are just too precious.  In the hustle and bustle of making 8:30 a.m. Mass, lunch in the rain, and nap times, these are the only photos I have of their cuteness.

And the big girl?  Well, she had already exchanged her Easter dress for a swimsuit by the time I came downstairs from putting her sisters down for naps!  Did I mention that it was in the low 50s and raining on Sunday?  A girl can dream, right?

I might have let the whole egg-dying thing go this year.  I just wasn't feeling all pastel-ness and couldn't get into 'Easter-mode' with our temps and lack of sunshine.

Maria insisted on it.  I'm glad she did.  It was the perfect way to spend a rainy Easter Sunday afternoon.

Nurse Camilly joined us from her nap mid way through.  It was a bit of a rough start for her - a full blown head cold coupled with a long nap leaving her in a grumpy fog, poor girl.

Eventually Maria persuaded her to join in the fun of the wax crayon and glitter egg dying.

("See, Camilly... you just hold right here and plop! goes your egg!  Ohh and it's all shiny and glittery... just like a princess!"  Insert a high pitched little-mama voice and you get the picture.)

Yes, glitter egg dying.  It wasn't quite as shimmery and shiny as hoped for, but it appeased our new-found love of glitter around these parts!

Dada being extra sneaky with his wax crayon designs.  Because sneakiness is clearly necessary when writing with a wax crayon.  He keeps us entertained, this guy does.

And little Lila wasn't napping through it all.  Nope.

Nor was she interested in all the hype centered around the kitchen table.

She thoroughly enjoyed the lack of attention and freedom to roam the house unchaperoned!
