field day fun :: rain or shine

Last Friday was Field Day at Ree's school.  She had no idea what to expect, but I was quite eagerly looking forward to it.  Then came the forecast of rain, rain... and more rain, as in tropical storm rain.  Don't get me wrong; I love the rain.  It just put a damper on the whole 'field day' notion.

However, I was quite impressed with the back-up plan that was put into place.  There was a crazy bounce house, hull-a-hooping, and loud zumba classes in the gym.  Each classroom was set up with a different fun and silly activity - 'clear your yard' with balloons, velcro golf, obstacle courses, etc.  The students rotated through the 'stations' based on a little schedule... that always left you guessing what was coming next. ;)

I had imagined everything being crammed into the gym and therefore packed the wrong lens.  But all the same, I managed to capture a few moments.  It was good silly fun... torrential downpour and all.
